Seattle Restaurant Week at Vendemmia

Seattle Restaurant Week is one of my favorite times of the year. Twice annually, restaurants across the city create special prix fixe menus for diners to enjoy. I love restaurant week because it gives us the opportunity to try some of the City's fine cuisine at a budget price - lunch menus for $20 and dinner menus for $35. This year, we went to Vendemmia, an Italian-inspired restaurant in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. We were so excited to try their vibrant tasting menu, rich entrees, and incredible desserts. Seattle Restaurant Week - COVID Edition

Seattle Restaurant Week is a biannual tradition across the Seattle metropolitan area. Each spring and fall, over 165 restaurants offer special menus to showcase their cooking for lunch and dinner. Typically, the event lasts one or two weeks and is only available for dine-in on week nights. This year, everything is a little different and SRW is adapting to the challenges of COVID-19. Fall SWR 2020 includes take out, dine-in, and dining outdoors options at restaurants across the region. Instead of a week, special menus will be offered for an entire month: October 25 - November 21, every night of the week (depending on restaurant participation). Two other exciting aspects of this fall's event are:

Eat Local First: This is a special designation for restaurants whose menu features 50% or more of their ingredients from Washington farmers and producers.

Plate of Nations: This is a special designation (taken from another dining event of the same name) that highlights restaurants along the ML King Jr Way corridor in SE Seattle. The 20 Plate of Nations restaurants reflect the areas diverse residents and cuisines including Hawaiian, Mexican, Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Oromo, Greek, Somali, American, Soul Food, New Mexican, and Chinese.

Be sure to check out SRW to-go menus this week before the end of the event!

About Vendemmia

"Vendemmia, located in the Madrona neighborhood of Seattle, is Chef Brian Clevenger's first restaurant. Its Italian-inspired menu has become a favorite for diners who appreciate the approach of using good product, locally-sourced whenever possible, prepared in a manner that highlights its true nature."  - Vendemmia

Vendemmia was founded by Chef Brian Clevenger, a native of Anacortes, WA. His love of seafood and fresh produce shines through his restaurants and markets across Seattle. Currently, his General Harvest Restaurant Group operates six restaurants and markets across the city:

  • Vendemmia: Italian-inspired full service restaurant in Madrona

  • East Anchor Seafood: Seafood market in Madrona - next door to Vendemmia!

  • Haymaker: Pacific Northwest cuisine in a full service restaurant with locations in West Seattle and Eastlake - also has a SRW menu!

  • GH Pasta: Lunch spot for house-made pasta in South Lake Union

  • Raccolto: Italian-inspired full service restaurant in West Seattle - also has a SRW menu!

Vendemmia's Vibrant Tasting Menu

We were excited to try Vendemmia for Seattle Restaurant Week because their special menu featured a tasting menu of appetizers for the table, plus full sized entrees, and desserts. We knew we would be able to try a great selection of dishes, all at a great price ($35 per diner). The SRW menu also features a $21 wine pairing with three wines to match each of the courses. We dined there on a Monday, so we skipped the wine pairing, but the food was delicious and rich enough to make our weeknight anniversary dinner feel like the special occasion it was. We tried the following dishes (photos below):

  • Beef Tartare on Toast

  • Fresh Burrata on Toast

  • Bitter Greens Salad

  • Hamachi Crudo

  • Roasted Potatoes and Sunchokes with Hollandaise Sauce

  • Albacore Tuna with Squid Ink Aioli, Grains, Chimichurri

  • Beef Short Ribs with Apple, Celery, Polenta

  • Panna Cotta with Dried Apples and Oat Crumble

  • Blondie with Creme de Leche

The crudo, beef tartare, short rib, and panna cotta were our favorites. We will definitely be back for a special occasion dinner once COVID restrictions are lifted and we can enjoy dine-in service again. In the meantime, you can enjoy their SRW or full menu to-go!
