Poke Lunch at Seattle Fish Guys
Wednesday was an unseasonably warm and beautiful fall day in Seattle. We took advantage of the crisp, sunny air by getting take out poke for lunch from Seattle Fish Guys. The Central District/Judkin's Park fish market and deli serves up some of the freshest seafood in the City and delicious prepared foods perfect for lunch on the go or a picnic in the park. We were so excited to soak in the afternoon sun and enjoy a fresh bowl of poke. Read more about Seattle Fish Guys and what we ate down below!
Great To-Go Options

Prior to COVID-19, we loved going to different restaurants around the city. Eating in a restaurant is a magical experience that goes beyond the food. However, now we're doing a lot more take out options to support local businesses and stay safe. Seattle Fish Guys is a great to-go option as they offer a variety of prepared dishes, an outdoor patio (first come, first served) and are just a block away from Judkins Park which has lots of picnic tables and benches throughout the park.
Right now, they are offering fresh fish, prepared dishes like poke and smoked salmon, products from other local vendors (flowers, desserts, snacks), and their Fish 4 Days promotion. The promotion includes fresh seafood and all the ingredients to prepare delicious meals like:
Alaskan Sockeye Salmon with roasted potatoes
Seafood bisque with Dungeness crab
Manila clams with chorizo and baguette
Whole roasted branzino with kale, lemon, and herbs
Shrimp and bacon cheesy grits
Be sure to follow them on facebook and instagram for new menus each week.
About Seattle Fish Guys
"We started Seattle Fish Guys to bring fresh quality seafood to local communities." - Seattle Fish Guys
Seattle Fish Guys was founded by Sal Panelo, a fishmonger with a long history in Seattle and the Central District neighborhood. Prior to purchasing City Fish and opening Seattle Fish Guys, he worked at Mutual Fish, Pike Place Fish, and then as the seafood manager at Uwajamaya - the Pacific Northwest's largest Japanese grocery store. Desiree Chinn is the cofounder of the market and her family members are Central District natives as well. You can order fresh seafood and prepared foods online or by phone for delivery or you can visit the shop in person at 23rd Avenue and South Jackson Street.

"Fish handling is a lost art now. Everything is so processed. Being a third-generation fisherman, I handle fish out of respect, heritage, honor and tradition." - Sal Panelo
Fresh, Tender, and Flavorful Poke Bowls
The last time we went to Seattle Fish Guys, we were looking for a delicious and quick lunch that we could enjoy outside in the sunny, fall weather. We both had the poke bowl special which includes your choice of 1, 2, or 3 seafood choices, a side salad, and rice. We both chose the spicy salmon and brown rice. For our side salads we tried the kimchi and macaroni salad. The poke includes large, tender pieces of fish which is prepared right in store and served fresh. Unlike other poke bowls that might have smaller pieces of fish or be supplemented with veggies and herbs, the poke at Seattle Fish Guys is all about the seafood. At $11.99, this amazing bowl will definitely satisfy your lunch cravings. The menu rotates so be sure to stop by for different fish and marinades.
