One of our new favorite coffee shops is Coffeeholic House in Columbia City, Seattle. Read more below about how this great new cafe launched right in the middle of the pandemic.
New Flavors when we Needed them Most
Coffeeholic House first opened its storefront in Columbia City in March 2020 - just days before Washington State closed all non-essential businesses due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. That hasn't stopped this delicious new addition to Columbia City and the Rainier Valley from attracting a broad customer base and (much deserved) attention from our local Seattle coffee and food scene.
Coffeeholic House is owned and operated by Chen Dien and his wife Trang Cao. The couple immigrated to Seattle 8 years ago and have grown in the community since then. They hope that the new coffee shop will reflect the Vietnamese community in Seattle and their values. The owners were interviewed by Seattle Met and shared their thoughts on the cafe:
"After moving to the States, we adapted to new cultures and became unique individuals... Life is too short for bad coffee, and we can’t wait to share our creations with you.” - Chen Dien, Owner Coffeeholic House, Seattle Met
Delicious Drinks in a Curated Cafe
Coffeeholic has a beautiful space in the new PAX Futura apartments which is Seattle's first passive house apartment building. With a beautiful feature mural, mosaic stairs, lofted seating area, and collection of plants, it is a beautiful relaxing space to enjoy your coffee. Due to current restrictions, the cafe is only doing to-go and online business which keeps the counter area bustling and busy all morning long.
Coffeholic specializes in Vietnamese coffee - phin drip methods and coffee beans sourced from Nguyen Coffee Supply - to create delicious highly caffineated treats. We love the ube latte - it is definitely my go-to drink - but have also enjoyed the honey latte, matcha, coffeeholic dream, and anything with a dollop of their salty cheese foam.
Have you had the chance to try out Coffeeholic? Do you love Vietnamese Coffee? We'd love to get your drink and/or recommendations to try next!
